Frequently Asked Questions

Our team treats every scene like it’s our own home, with the utmost care. Whether you come to us with a minor cleanup or a more complex, sensitive situation, our licensed specialists are trained and insured to handle any trauma, biohazard, or environmental component. Below are answers to some of the questions we are asked the most.

Who pays for trauma cleanup?

The answer to this question is as unique as your situation. In many cases, your homeowner’s insurance will cover the cost of any remediation services we provide. We highly recommend you check with your insurance company to verify their coverage for your situation. We have experience working directly with insurance companies and can walk you through the process.

Should I clean the area myself first?

It’s not recommended that you try to clean up the biohazard yourself. There are a lot of regulations surrounding hazardous cleanup, including the disposal of any human bio-hazardous waste. You shouldn’t attempt to clean up any part of the scene for your safety. Instead, leave it to Midwest Biohazard. Our team is skilled and knowledgeable in state and federal requirements surrounding these cleanups and will ensure your safety from beginning to end.

Do you work discreetly?

We understand the sensitivity surrounding many of our cleanup scenes and can work with you to maintain your privacy. Our team works discreetly and can even show up to the scene in an unmarked vehicle to be as discreet as you’d like. We will do all we can to accommodate your requests.

Do I have to be there during the cleanup?

The homeowner does not have to be present but must sign a waiver agreement and notice to proceed before work can begin. We understand that many of our clients don’t want to revisit the scene of our cleanings, and we respect those wishes. After completion, a satisfaction letter must be signed and if possible, we would recommend a final walk-through of the scene to ensure thorough cleaning.

A fair estimate was given and work was completed the next day. They’re kind and fun people who not only get the job done but help you through an emotionally difficult time and unexpected situation. They saved me!

“Outstanding Work”

Had to deal with a sewage backup at my business at night on a holiday weekend – not only the most competitive price but also the fastest response time of any other biohazard removal/cleanup company I contacted. The team that showed up was incredibly professional, communicative, and efficient.
